When’s your most productive time?

My most productive time – having Teh-C and planning the day before 8am.

I’m crafting a video introduction to an upcoming SMU-ExD Executive Development session on strategy… how can I impress on my Middle-manager participants how IMPORTANT strategy is to them, and how their job revolves about being a strategy carrier for the organisation. First in INQUIRY mode by providing senior management with real insights into what’s happening in the real world and the in ADVOCACY mode cogently engaging with front liners about how to use the strategy to create beneficial outcomes?

I’ve stumbled upon “What happens when you’re not there” as a theme … are participants are absent on our course, how do you ensure that the right things happen and the wrong things don’t? Option 1- a micro-managers detailed twenty page daily checklist plus “ring my mobile” instruction or Option 2- effective engagement about desired outcomes (NOT inputs), the STRATEGY required to achieve it and the hard boundaries to work within.

After thirty years in this “game” I realise it’s never ‘about’ the strategy; it’s about your ability to craft then communicate a simple and effective strategy that enables others to achieve agreed outcomes successfully.

ok I know what today’s about!
